Located on the northern hillsides of Vendôme, dominant south view facing. Huchepie manor is built on the remnants of a Gallo-Roman tower. It was once a fortified farm belonging to the Hospital knights. From this time remains a murderhole in the lower vaulted part of the house. The staircase in the tower dated 1753 was built by the baron of Courtiras in these days first magistrate in the Court of Vendôme.
There are 24 Loire châteaux opened to the public and about 30 museums in the area, not to mention a vast number of beautiful classified gardens. The most visited castle is Chambord followed closely by Chenonceaux. Cheverny castle is famous for having been the model of Hergé in one of Tintin comics which relates to the "Moulinsart castle".
In the immediate proximity of the manor: four beautiful classified gardens.
- Roseraie des Terrasses de l’Évêché
- Domaine Régional de Chaumont sur Loire
- Arboretum de la Fosse
- Jardin du Plessis Sasnières

Guest's review on Real adventures:"Absolutely wonderful B&B - staying here was one of our trip highlights! The owner is friendly and a great cook - breakfast was wonderful and it was worth the extra money to have dinner there a couple of times - the best dinners of our two week trip! It is also a wonderful central location for exploring Chateau of the Loire Valley - too many to count within a one hour drive of the B&B. Also, the town of Vendome is fun to explore. The price is right for this B&B and you cannot go wrong staying here."
And on Trip Advisor: A charmer on the edge of Vendome" My husband and I spent 4 nights at la Manoir de Huchepie on the edge of Vendome in May 2012. The owners are charming and extremely helpful and the dinners are wonderful. After the first evening we decided not to try the local restaurants but to dine here each evening, and were so pleased we did. Each course was special: all the ingredients fresh, every dish hand-made, each bite delicious, and the carefully selected wine is included with dinner. The view from the dining room was relaxing and so much nicer than typical views in a city or town. The highlights of a stay here are the owners and dinner. We would return for both and highly recommend them.
